And we're gonna really talk about what that means and how it relates to your business today, sugar pros and for those of you interested in triggering, and just the skincare industry business in general, because we really need to be strong in these next few years on what our business looks like. And if we don't have clarity and focus, then, you know, we're really going to spread ourselves thin.

INTRO:
Welcome to The Sugar Show. I'm Shannon O'Brien, body Sugaring expert and licensed esthetician who's taken my own skincare business from zero to multiple six figures and has helped over 3000 students learn how to do the same. Now let me tell you, it wasn't all that long ago that I lacked the time budget and knowledge needed to grow my small business as a body Sugaring Pro. If we were to press rewind, you'd see the many failed attempts and lessons learned that have helped me build the profitable business that I have today. When that runs on its own, it gives me the lifestyle and freedom that I only used to dream of. I created The Sugar Show to hand you my secrets and give you the simple step by step strategies to help you do the same. So if you're a cosmetologist or esthetician or wax professional, who's looking to fill your books, make more money in your business and enjoy greater balance between your work and home life, you are in the right place. Let's dive in.

This week's win is a very kind comment that was left by one of our students Katrina. She said, being able to have my own time to study and practice Sugaring is very important for me, I work whenever a client needs my services. So being able to have that flexibility is a plus. That's when I went to love to sugar Shannon is amazing all she is hands on and has updates almost every week. So you can learn also via video call. It's a community of positive fun and caring people. And that's what you'll need when you're starting in the industry. Thank you Shannon, and to the whole love to sugar team - Katrina. Thank you so much Katrina for not only saying those sweet things about myself in the program, but for shouting out our team because our team is growing. I am so incredibly proud of everyone that just has a giant heart for helping all of you. So thank you for Katrina for acknowledging our beautiful, beautiful team. And we are really, really excited to continue to bring you more robust education and fun as the time goes on. So thank you again. Welcome, Melissa to the The Sugar Show podcast.

Melissa Hoffman  02:58

Thank you, Shannon, I'm so excited to be here.

Shannon O'Brien  03:00

I am to I am to it's I love hanging out with people that have like this similar vibe and really like true vision for what they want their students to experience and then have the ability to really articulate that. And you are that my friends. So thank you for being here. So let's dive into a few things. First of all, how did you even start in this industry? Because and what's your journey? What is Melissa all about? And then we'll talk about how you coach folks after that, and then what it takes to actually get clarity to make a killing in this industry. So that's a big order. I know. Let's start with you. Like tell the audience like who is Melissa Hoffman?

Melissa Hoffman  03:43

Yeah, so I'll start with who I am right now. So I'm a life and business coach. And I, what I do is I help women figure out their purpose, develop the confidence to feel that they can actually have what they want, and then create the business that they've been dreaming of. And so I struggled with, like what to call myself sometimes. So I am a life and business coach, because I found as with the clients that I was working with, we were doing a lot with business. But also most of the work that we were doing had to do with the personal stuff like the finding the confidence to put themselves out there and to feel confident in who they were and that they were worthy of having what they wanted. And dealing with impostor syndrome and all of the things because as an entrepreneur, you're gonna find that a lot of the work you do is in personal development. And so you have to be so like fully confident and who you are, and be willing to take risks and put yourself out there to be able to build the business that you want to have. And so that is what I do now. And I did this because  my journey, going back to like where I was and how I got here was I used to be a pharmaceutical rep. And I chose pharmaceutical because I thought, well, this is like a job, they pay good, they got a lot of like perks. And you know, like, this is what you do, you just get a corporate job and you're like, it doesn't matter if you like what you're doing or not. But as I was doing this job, I was so stressed out, burnt out, I hated what I was doing. I hated the companies I worked for I hated my bosses, because they were micromanagers. And I just didn't feel any fulfillment and what I was doing, and I'm a very creative person, I love beauty, I have so many interests, and this job was not fulfilling any of them. And so after about seven years, I was deeply depressed, I hated my job, I couldn't get out of bed in the morning, and I didn't know what to do. And I felt so stuck. And that was when I found personal development. And it all started with Hay House and Louise Hays, you can heal your life. And that was what started me on my journey, to really like, not only loving myself and believing in myself, but knowing that I could create whatever I wanted to create that I was a powerful person. And so I got really clear on what I wanted to do. And that was to be in the beauty industry, and to be a makeup artist. Because I loved makeup, I loved all things beauty. And that was like what I spent, like all my time and money on to was like makeup, and like when I would go out, I would do my own makeup, and I would do my friend's makeup. And it was just so fun for me. And when I was first like wanting to leave my job, I didn't realize that could be a career. And as I started to do some more research and kind of like, think more about what I wanted to be doing, I realized that I could become a makeup artist and start a business. And it didn't have to include working at a retail counter. Because that at the time, that was my only experience of makeup artists. And so I built a successful luxury makeup business doing mostly weddings and personal branding photoshoots. And I loved what I did. And I did that for 12 years, and towards the end, I was starting to feel a pull to do something pull to do something different. Because the women that I was working with, I would find that I was naturally coaching them. Because a lot of times, you know, when they show up for either their weddings, or like a personal branding photoshoot for their business, a lot of their insecurities would come up, especially when it comes to like being in front of a camera being seen, or you know, all of the insecurities they have about how they look for their wedding, like all of these things were coming up to the surface. And so I got to make them feel amazing for one day. But I knew that I wanted to help them for something that was like deeper than that, and longer lasting and have more of an impact in their lives. And so that's when I started to look at coaching. And I became certified as a life coach and then started to kind of figure out, okay, what kind of coaching do I want to do. And really what stood out for me was helping women that had been where I was, who hated their jobs, or even like women that were in businesses that didn't serve them anymore. Because as I was going, you know, the start of the pandemic, I couldn't do my business, I had to get creative and think about how can I still serve people without being in person. And then I realized, like, I just want to have an online business. And I don't want to do the in person work and traveling all over the Bay Area to go to people's weddings and show up at 5am and work 12 hour days, like I was done with that. And also my lifestyle had changed because I became a mom. And so I wanted to spend more time with my son and not be working all the time. So that's in a nutshell, who I am and how I got to where I am now.

Shannon O'Brien  08:54

Girl, I feel you I used to work the corporate job as well. And seriously, like, I felt like a caged bird sitting in my cube pounding away at you know, spreadsheets. And I mean, I was a teacher before then like,

Melissa Hoffman  09:06

Me too!

Shannon O'Brien  09:08

I know, I know when I heard your podcast, I was like, Girl, I was a teacher too. Yeah, I taught elementary school that that's my credential. And so I taught elementary school but I couldn't make any money. So that's how I got into the corporate world. And so it was like, Okay, I traded my you know, passion and my happiness for money and a cubicle. Actually, I had an office thank God but still I felt caged. And can you imagine this big bold personalities sitting in a cube now? So, you know, it was like trying to find the best of both worlds. So the business and the teaching went hand in hand. But, you know, you kind of have to that's the chapters of life, right? Like, you know, we aren't who we are today without those chapters of life. So for those of you that are listening to this in your in your 20s don't feel like don't judge yourself on where we have come because we actually it's taken us years to get Hear so we're just importing our wisdom as it relates to what we've seen and been thorough. So yeah, yes. I love that we're in similar life situations. However, my children are now taller than me. Yes, yeah.

Melissa Hoffman  10:13

I have a little guy. He's a little guy. So you've got a ways to go my journey. Yes. To catch up to me in the Mon department, you have you have about probably five and a half feet to go. Yes.

Shannon O'Brien  10:24

Maybe a little bit less. But, um, so let's talk about you know, I talked to estheticians cosmetologists all the time, about the journey, but about also what to focus on. Because I think we go to these trade shows, you know, especially now, there are so many opportunities for us in skincare. You know, some people choose to just be influencers, some people don't even have a license and think they could do that. But that's a whole nother podcast, right? But then some people teach some people open up shop, some people love being employees, you know, there's all there's some people do make up some people just skin some people do the, you know, hair removal, there's so many ways that you can be a part of this industry. And when you walk into a trade show, every booth it's like, it has magical fairy dust on it, and you must have that equipment, or you must do that, that modality, you know, there's there's so all of the things. So Melissa and I were having wine with girlfriends the other day, and I said, Melissa, let's, let's talk to the sugar tribe, in our audience on The Sugar Show, about how to help you all really get clarity on what it is you want to do who it is you want to serve. And so that you can truly be strong in your business. Because I can teach about all kinds of things. I can do facials, I can do you know, brows, I can do all kinds of things, I chose sugar, that is my zone of genius. And to be honest, if you would have told me back at college that I was going to be like the queen who has I would have said, Haha have another beer. But I think it is super, super important for you all to understand that there needs to be a vision, whether you start a business or not. There needs to be a vision for what it is you're doing in life. And that's sometimes really hard to get to. So if someone's listening to this podcast, they're walking the dog, they their earbuds in air pods. My kids always laugh at me to get those words wrong. They get their air pods and I'm dating myself.

Melissa Hoffman  12:27

What would you like people to know about finding your purpose and your clarity? Because I think that's so important to figure out what your vision is for yourself as it relates to your business. So let's talk about purpose and finding it fitting into that because it's oh, this is the meat, right? Yeah, yeah. So purpose is just simply like what lights you up? And so when I'm working with my clients, and we're trying to figure out like, What's their purpose? It's almost like, you know, what is like your mission in life? Like, what do you feel like you're meant to do. And it can be like on a broader scale, like you're meant to help women, you know, feel more beautiful, or whatever it is. Or it could be even something more personal, like, I just want to have my own business where I can feel like fulfilled and enjoy what I'm doing and make the money that I want to make. And so that's kind of a good place to start. And I always find that getting clear on your purpose a lot of times is just like, What are you so passionate about, that you can't stop thinking about, and that you would do all day long if you could, whether you got paid or not. And of course, we want you to get paid. But it's kind of a good place to start. And so when I was in corporate America, you know, all I thought about was makeup, and like doing makeup and experimenting on myself and using makeup as an expression of how I felt and who I like wanted to be seen as and so that like made sense for me to go into makeup. And then when you think about being a makeup artist, oh my goodness, there's so many different options. And so when it comes to that part, not getting distracted by all the different techniques and modalities and all the different things that you could do, it's really just taking some time and thinking about okay, what is it that I really love to do? And also, like, what is it that makes sense for me to be able to find clients to make money and to really like step into this identity like for you, it's the sugar mama. And so for someone else like for me it was I was the natural makeup artist. So and I discovered this like by accident because at first I was trying to do all the things I was, first of all, I did get sort of I did get my license as an esthetician and thought I would have my own skin studio and I would do makeup on the side. That was way too much. I could not I could not do that. And I would have like burnt out. And also,

Shannon O'Brien  15:04

I just, it was just really good for me to have a focus because also, you'll spend like way more money than you need to if you're buying like you don't need. So I figured out, I wanted to just really focus on makeup. And then you know, there was like all these different kinds of makeup, I learned how to do body painting, I was trying to learn special effects, I wanted to do commercial makeup, you know, fashion makeup that doesn't pay, and you know, just trying to do all of the things. And there was a couple times that I like worked with clients, and they wanted really natural makeup looks. And I had found that as I was doing other people's makeup, I didn't want to do my own makeup. And so I would show up at whatever event I was doing or with a client and I would be wearing very minimal makeup. And women would tell me like, oh my god, I love your makeup, I want my makeup like that. And I was like I'm barely wearing anything. And I thought I would be doing like turning people into qMk. But know what the women that I was working with really wanted was just to look like the best version of themselves, but still recognize themselves. And so as I like started to hear that I realized, like, Oh, this is what I'm good at, this is what I want to be known for. And as soon as I realized that, like that became like my personal brand, I like stepped into that I became an expert at that. And that was like all I showed on my portfolio. And I just started booking match women that didn't wear makeup or barely wore makeup. And they wanted to look like themselves and they want to just the most natural makeup ever, and have a great niche. Yeah, and it was and there are so many women out there, which I didn't realize, that has no idea how to do their makeup. They don't want to look like somebody else. They don't want to look like Kim K, right? They just want to look like an elevated version of themselves. So that was what I built my business on. And in the beginning, like you would think like oh people, I mean, you do get people that are like, Oh, can you do my eyes on me or anything like that. But really natural makeup is the hardest to do. And so like once you like, once I like educated people on that, and like I had my prices set a certain way. Like that was what attracted those high end clients for me was because they they realize the value of having somebody like recognize that they didn't want to look like somebody else. They wanted somebody that just like really perfected the way their skin looked the way their eyebrows look, brighten them, enhance them. So they could still feel like themselves and they would happily pay for that. Yeah. What I'm loving hearing from you is you had this like, hardcore vision at first. Yeah. But then you had the business savvy enough to really listen to what your clients were asking for. And really listen for, what was that thing that they were needing? Yes. And funnily enough, it like I said, if you would have told me I was going to do sugar back in the day. I mean, I wasn't I was a day spa owner, I was an esthetician. I didn't really like hair removal. I didn't want to do any of that. But I started listening to what people actually needed. Yeah, I never thought that the plan would be to do hair removal. I really didn't. I didn't even like it in the beginning. But I think like you, if we can kind of put down our expectations of what should be and really listen to our clients, they're going to tell you that thing that you're going to be amazing at, because it'll just flow, you find that it just you never thought you'd do natural makeup. And it just flowed. And instead of fighting that current, you just got on the river and took the current down. And it really became that thing that you were known for. Yeah. And so I think sometimes there's some, like, you know, like, like you said, you discovered it by accident, but it was really just by paying attention. Yeah, I was just gonna say it's like being open to whether it's, you know, what people are telling you, or like, what you're seeing what you're noticing. And also you want to enjoy it too. Like if I hated doing natural makeup, then I probably wouldn't have gone down that route. But because I'd love to do it anyways, like on myself and other people recognize that and they came to me for that. And so it was just paying attention to like what's being put in front of me. And like, let's, let's see what happens. And it also sometimes it's just experimenting. Sometimes you have to experiment with a few different things to really figure out like okay, this is what I love to do. This is what people are telling me I'm good at and this is there's a market for this. And not only like there's a market for this but like at the time there wasn't a lot of women or a lot of makeup artists that were doing natural makeup so there was definitely a need for it and there wasn't anyone that was serving that need. And so yeah If you just, you know, like, don't go where everyone else is traveling, you know, really just take a look at what the opportunities are. You know, that's brilliant. I love that you did that. And what would you say, is a good thing for people to think about when they're like, Okay, I'm in the skincare industry, and I'm a new esthetician or cosmetologist, or I've been in the industry for a really long time. And I need something to just kind of infuse myself. What are some good steps people can kind of take to start figuring out what they want to be when they grow up.

Melissa Hoffman  20:36

Like and really get that focus? Yeah, I think it's really just getting clear on like, what lights you up, because what you're excited about other people are going to be excited about you're going to be drawn to that. And don't try to do all of the things like you can do a few things. Like I also did hairstyling and I was really good at hair styling. But I added that on after like, I got really good at makeup. And then I added on hairstyling and I didn't go get a cosmetology license. I knew like I'm not gonna go work in the salon and cut in color. I got very specific with what I added on and it was like natural looking boho, you know, up dues and hairstyles for weddings. And so like that complemented what I was already doing. But it wasn't like something like totally different. So it's almost like, get the vision for like, what you want your business to look like? And then what are the things that will support you in that, like, you don't have to learn all the things. And I find that if you are getting like distracted by like, Oh, but I need to learn this. I need to learn that often. That's just a procrastination.

Shannon O'Brien  21:45

Distraction. Distraction thing. Yeah. And it's just keeping you from really like putting yourselves out putting yourself out there. And like finding clients or taking action on growing your business. Yeah. So like, choose like one or two things. Like, if you are new to the skincare industry, like figure out what lights you up and then get really good at that. You can always add something on later that complements that but like start with one thing, it's going to be way easier and also more affordable for you to start up your skincare practice for sure. And trying to add all the things for sure for sure. Okay, so now we're going to talk to that person who has really said, Yeah, sugar is my jam. Yeah, let's talk about personal branding. Oh, yes, big topic. I know and you have it on your podcast, but let's just touch on it here with those folks that really want to kind of become their brand kind of like I have as the sugar mama. Yeah, and really become their brand. So touch on that a little bit. Yeah, so like personal branding is really like sharing like who you are. And I heard like one influencer say like personal branding is what people say about you when you're not in the room. So what do you want to be known for? So if you want to be you know, Sugaring, and that's what you want to do, like, figure out like, why why you love Sugaring. And you know, share more of that share more of your personality, find out what we're share what makes you unique from everybody. And so it can be like your own personal story. It can be like things that you like, like, I don't know, maybe you like, like, plants in your, you know, like, that's part of like your studio is you have like a tropical vibe. And you're sharing, too, you know, like, or, I don't know, I mean, there's so many different things you could do, but just really like what do you want to be known for? And it can be just, it can be something personal, but that's how you build a personal brand. And people will start to remember you and think of you when they think of Sugaring. Yeah. And also just, you know, really becoming an expert on that. So, you know, becoming the best damn sugar person that you can ask, right? You know, sugar tribe, I want you to really hear this because I think some people feel like they have to be dancing on Tik Tok, you know, this big personality to be successful in Sugaring, because that's what sugar mama does, right? There aren't just as with makeup, like there's that big bold Kim K look with makeup or I don't know, whoever the other people are, right? Because I'm a makeup person. But you know, like all those people that you know Lizzo or whatever, they had the nails and the hair and the whole thing and they're big personalities and you have to be if you're gonna be a makeup artist, you have to do that right. But I think that they're your example is so perfect to understand that clients need different styles. For example, you became a natural makeup artist. There are plenty of people out there that don't want big bold Shannon to come in and you know, sugar, they're hot, right? They want the soft, safe environment, because they're a little more nervous and I might be too much for those folks. And maybe your brand is your soft spa like Style to get your Sugaring done, come get smoothed in this, you know, all natural environment. You know, some people really like the plants, like maybe you have beautiful plants in your space and there's calm, relaxing music shoot, you come to sugar mamas, we're playing disco, I'm singing Don't Stop Believin. But that's my brand. And I think that focus and clarity is really understanding the experience that you want your clients to have, the kind of services that you offer, but also the experience that you offer. So in my place, you're getting sugared, and we are going to have some fun and some laughs and you're getting a hug, and some clients will not want that. Right. And that's fine. There's plenty of hoo ha to go around, plenty of brows to be done, plenty of makeup to be done. And there are just as many people that want that big bold makeup be, you know, browse to the nines, the whole thing all the contouring and things like do are plenty people that love that. And there is equally the same amount of people that want just a beautiful, natural look. And they don't know where to go. And you solve that for them. So do you see audience how what Melissa is really bringing out is that, you know, if you gain clarity about who you are and who your perfect clients are, there is just a synergy in that right? There is Yeah, people they're hiring you for you. Yeah, not because of like how you're going to sugar them are like what their, you know, vagina is gonna look like after. But now they all want to be perfectly smooth pain. Exactly. They want that. Yeah, I mean, they could get that anywhere. So you have a choice of like 10, Sugaring, estheticians, they're going to choose the one that whose vibe, they relate to whom they feel the most comfortable with who they feel drawn to. And so you want to be that person for them. But it wants to be authentic to who you are. And there are going to be clients for all 10 of those esthetician or right clients for everybody. So just like people have different personality types, they're going to be drawn to other different personality types. Sure, sure. And then my, my daddy used to say refer to my dad all the time, he was my hero, my daddy always just say, do what you love, and the money will follow back. And I really think that's critical for us to understand in this in the skincare industry in any business, but especially in the skincare industry is that if you just listen to what your clients need, if you do the work, like Melissa saying to find your purpose and your clarity, it won't feel like work A and B, the money will follow if you are really mindful of that path. So any advice that you can give for people that are like, okay, yeah, I really, that's what I want to work on this weekend, I want to get my journal out. And I want to really, what are some prompts and things that we can start doing? Or that you know, these folks can start doing to really kind of take this to the next level? And what are some tools that you have? Yeah, I mean, I love journaling, like, if you're trying to get a vision for what you want to create journaling, I think is the best thing that you can do. So you know, having some quiet time for yourself and really digging into what is it that I want? What do I want to create? What do I want it to look like? And think about all the aspects of what your business could look like from like, how many hours a week you're working? What exactly are you doing? Who are you working with? How much money are you making? How do your clients feel after they've worked with you, and really painting the picture of what that looks like, and thinking about how you want to spend your days. And also thinking about who you need to be who you need to show up as to have what you want. Because a lot of times we get into this imposter syndrome of maybe you know, you're new and you're like I don't have all the experience that these other estheticians have, or you know, who am I to want this like big business where I'm making all this money, but you have your own unique gifts exactly as you are and there is going to be somebody that is going to want to pay you for them. So just really working on who you need to be and not that you need to change anything but it's maybe it's you start showing up more visibly on social media to start to connect with potential clients or so that way people can get, you know, a sense of who you are, or just like really showing up as, you know, figuring out what your personal brand is, and showing up in that way so people can really understand and so and taking aligned action too. So thinking about what our journaling around what are the activities that are going to help me bring in clients. And it's not like taking another class and learning another like modality or something it's not buying an image gain. It's just really putting yourself out there and connecting with people. So thinking about like, what are the ways that I enjoy doing that I can meet potential clients and start getting referrals? Because that is I think the best way to build your business is getting your getting out there, meeting people, sharing what you do, and letting them experience you. And also, like, refer people to you and having like, happy customers, because that was how I built my business. It was referral based only. Yeah, yeah. Okay. So speaking of that, when you think back on your clients that have really made like the biggest transformation, you know, like, tell us about somebody that comes to mind her name is Sally, right? And tell us about someone who comes to mind for you and kind of what their journey like how you saw this in action with one of your students that you worked with? Yeah. So like one of my coaching clients? Yes. Yeah. So I had a client that I worked with, and she wasn't sure she was a makeup artist. And she was multi passionate, and she wanted to do all the things. And she was thinking like, oh, maybe I should go back to cosmetology school and get my cosmetology license and work in a salon and blah, blah, blah. Or maybe I should open a boutique. Because that sounds interesting, because I'm really interested in fashion, and I love styling. Or maybe I should just be a stylist, and she called Nine all the things that she wanted to do, and she was an amazing makeup artist. And so what I how I worked with her was like really getting clear on what it was she wanted to do like then figuring out like, do you still want to be a makeup artist? We want to like work on this and maybe we expand your services? Or do you want to go into something different. And after a lot of thought and like deep introspection, she realized that she really wanted to just like be a makeup artist, but maybe add new things into it because she was feeling a little stale with just doing weddings. And so we got clear on like, what kinds of things that she was already good at, and that she could add to her services. And styling was something that really stood out for her and so and she was really good at it. And so we created this custom package for her where she it was very like high touch high end bridal package where she did like created the whole vision for what the bride like the what it would look like. And so she helped the bride like the styling, she helped her like pick out her dress. She like helped her like figure out like what her style was, and like what kinds like she basically would do all of it for her. So the bride would have somebody that would help them pick out their dress their accessories, you know, create the vision for what they wanted with hair and makeup, because there's a lot of women out there that don't know and there's so many choices. Yes. And then she even had a package for men so like sometimes the groom's are clueless, and you know, the brides like want them to look good. And sugar too. Yeah, exactly. And so she had like a groom package where she would do all the things she would do grooming, she would help him, you know, style him for the wedding and for the like rehearsal dinner if they wanted to. And so it was this huge package that she created. Like, I've never seen anything like this in the industry. And she sold one $9,000 For a package. And that wasn't even the bridal party. Like I think they might have had some bridal party people. But it was really about a couple. And so a $9,000 package for a wedding is huge. When especially when it is just really about the bride and groom. And she was just in her zone of genius, just following what her where her heart was and what she did. Well, yeah, I think she just needed Yeah, she just needed more clarity on what she wanted to do. And focus on like that she could create this package what it would look like we put it out on our website, and also helping her with the confidence to believe that she could sell this package and that she would be able to deliver and she didn't know. Yeah. And there's something to be said for speaking it out loud. With someone who can call you on your stuff. Exactly. Right. Which is someone like you who can say, hey, either let's focus back down on this because you're starting to get all out there, right? Or Okay, these are the things you like you feel like you have clarity on Have you thought about this, or have you thought about this, and also really just taking what that is and kicking that to the endzone instead of trying to have a bunch of balls on the field and kicking them all down to the endzone, right. Like the goal is to really get to the next level and have not one person get that $9,000 package but five or six people in a year getting that and then you know, and I think that sometimes having someone like you that you can kind of say that out loud to It either makes more sense or doesn't make sense at all and you can scrap it and go on to the next thing. So it's a strategy to really, you know, get getting focused really does take some thought. Yeah, and sometimes you need someone to mirror back to you what they see in you as like your genius Send your talents. And, you know, especially when you're spiraling into like a fear, like, I don't know if I'd be good at this or hire me for that. Yeah, even I get that. People might be surprised to hear that. But even I have my moments where I'm like, Ah, I don't know what, you know, my big enough to do that event or my good enough at doing this I remember at the beginning saying, Am I good enough at sugar to be able to charge these you know this price or to be able to bring on somebody else? Like there's a lot of kind of mental gymnastics you have to do. So. Yeah, it's it's fascinating stuff. And, you know, I think at the end of the day, in this new world, that we're in post COVID, we are all trying to figure out how to do something that brings us this purpose, and brings us meaning to our jobs. And even if it's working for someone else, like let somebody else have the you know, pay the taxes, and, you know, pay for the water bill and buy the supplies, like you're an employee listening to this, God bless you, because the owner is doing all that stuff, all you got to worry about is your zone of genius. You don't have to open a business, yeah, find this clarity. And to understand that your job, even as an employee of a skincare practice, your job is really to really focus on your clients and what you're doing and make that its own little microcosm business, right. And so I think that really, it's, it's important for you to understand listening to this, that we all need to find our clarity, especially in these new times with social media, and everyone, you know, got up their eyes and thoughts and opinions on everything, but what's really important to you, and again, listening to what's really important for your clients, and then that flow will just, it'll come so naturally, it's what happened to me, and it's what happened to you. And I know that it can happen for our audience, too. So absolutely. Oh, girl, I need to meet with you. Because I want to do all of the things again, after COVID I got out and was like, I want to do things. So I had to really, you know, focus on myself as well. And we had we had good chats over wine that other things are really talking about, you know, like just staying in your lane and finding your you know, your genius and really being amazing at that. So yeah, thank you for those words of wisdom the other night, you're welcome. Those are those are it was really fun. And no matter what level you are really think about what it is you're, you know, your goals and your vision is. And like I said, if you're starting out, or you've been doing it for a really long time, like you and I, it's always good to hash it out with a girlfriend.
